The Tiger Who Came To Tea (Colourist)

In the summer between second and third year of university I had the opportunity of a lifetime to work as a Colorist and Consolidator on The Tiger Who Came to Tea by Lupus films, after being selected from the artworking test at Middlesex University. It was an amazing experience getting to grips with being in the animation industry, and gave me a much clearer Idea about what I want to do after graduation!

In all I probably ended up working on all but a few shots in the entire film as I became somewhat of a sieve for any issues the film might have. It was a phenomenal experience to be given that kind of responsibility.

After a few weeks of artworking and animation assisting, I was asked to fill a specific job between the artwork and Comp departments by consolidating and fixing the TVPaint files for export. This involved Junkmatting, error fixing and consolidating the layers as per Robin Shaw (the director)’s request. It was really cool to be given this kind of responsibility that had me in constant communication with the Comp and Artworking team, as well as working with the production manager, Clare Hernon.

This shot in particular had lots of interesting spacing and plate shuffling issues typical of 3D turns in 2D, which I was asked to fix.
